Surely, he brought to life the above words of Saint Madeleine Sophie. Francis lived from the conviction that hope is born of love that finds its roots in the pierced heart of Christ.

  • Claire Castaing, RSCJ (right), stands with current Superior General Barbara Dawson, RSCJ,  and lights Sophie's candle. This candle was at Sophie’s bedside at the time of her death; and the Society has kept it since then. Each new superior general, at the time of her election, lights this candle for a brief moment.
    Updated on August 30, 2024 In the early hours of August 20, 2024, the secretary general of the Society's General Chapter 2024 announced the election of Claire Castaing, RSCJ, as the next superior general of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Sister Castaing is from the Belgium-France-Netherlands Province and will serve an eight-year term.
