• Since I was a child, I have loved this time of year when darkness descends sooner on our days and the nights are usually crystal clear with some of the most magnificent stars and planets to be seen in the night sky. Those tiny, beautiful glimpses of light amid great darkness speak to me of Advent, of our recounting as a Christian community, once again, Emmanuel, God Is With Us!

The theme of our gathering was to “Harvest Hope” by reconnecting with one another, processing the graces of the summer Associates conference, and to let the goals for this year emerge from our hearts.

Schools of the Sacred Heart (now 25 total in the United States and Canada) owe the articulation of their educational philosophy, Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools, to her initiative.
