Coronavirus knows no boundaries nor does the charism to live out of the Heart of Jesus in our wounded world. Our boundaries may now simply be our place of residence, unless we envision a bigger picture of relationship with others. Even then, this pandemic has removed barriers and has created connections in ways we could not have imagined.
We are called to the Paschal mystery of encounter to receive and be the gift of life. Let us breathe in intentional kindness and exhale actions that result in kindness, one contact at a time. Together we can create a fabric of love, one thread at a time, that, joined together, creates a wholeness that is richer and larger than we can imagine.
In Mexico, the Associates are reaching out to people who need someone to listen to them and because this group has the gift of three languages, they are able to widen their reach. They have also invited the United States – Canada Associates to join them in an action.
What might that look like where you live?
Showing gratitude to all those working to keep us healthy, fed and connected with a card, a call, a text, an email or something else.
Finding the joy that seems hidden at this moment and sharing that joy in random acts of kindness.
Seeking ways to be beatitude people - there is no limit. Recognizing the poverty within each of us and finding the God of love through prayer.
Individually and collectively, we are called to respond to this crisis drawing on our charism. As we hold the unknown, may we come to know a new way of living that unites us and transforms us.
