The Sacred Heart Schools in Montreal, Quebec and Halifax, Nova Scotia, have been accepted as provisional members of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. While each school is well established as a Sacred Heart School, they are not currently members of the Network, which, prior to the merger of the United States and Canadian provinces, had been a network of schools only in the United States. Now that the provinces have combined, the schools are following suit.
The Network has an established process for becoming a member, and both Canadian schools have initated their application. The Network's membership committee reviewed submitted materials and conducted conference calls with the leadership of each school and proposed to the Network Board and Provincial Team that both schools be accepted as provisional members of the Network. At the Network's recent membership meeting, the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of accepting the Sacred Heart School of Montreal and the Sacred Heart School of Halifax into the Network of Sacred Heart Schools - United States and Canada. Both schools will now go through a rigorous evaluation, to include site visits and evaluations before they can apply for full membership in the Network.
