This past July, Michele Rumer joined the administrative staff of the Society of the Sacred Heart United States – Canada Province as the new medical benefits and finance assistant. Michele had been working for the province in a temporary capacity since April of this year.
Originally from Richmond, Indiana, Michele grew up in Belleville, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, with a minor in music, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Following graduation, she moved to Saint Louis, where she currently resides.
Michele has previously worked as a preschool teacher, and a personal care assistant, helping the elderly in their homes. Most recently, she worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital as an assistant to the nurse managers on the cardiac surgery floors. She shared “I’ve always enjoyed working closely with people. I’m very excited about this opportunity with the Society of the Sacred Heart and feel blessed to work with such an amazing group of women.”
When not working, Michele enjoys reading, being outdoors, anything related to the arts, and spending time with her two cats, Opus and Benson.
