The Provincial Team is pleased to announce that Janet Anderson has been named the new director of finance in the United States for the United States – Canada Province. In addition, the team welcomes Mary Halsey as the new controller for the province.
Janet has worked for the Society for 10 years, having served as controller since 2013.
She is a native of California – born in Travis Air Force Base, California – and has lived in Belleville, Illinois, for the past 45 years. There she met and married her husband, Mark, of 32 years. They have four children: Ashley, Alyssa, Matthew and Julia. They have one grandson, Andrew, and are expecting a second grandchild from their daughter Alyssa and son-in-law, Alex, later this year.
She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Louis University and brings 34 years’ of accounting experience to her new position.
She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandson, as well as sewing.
“Not only does Janet have the strategic capacity to lead the U.S. Finance Department, the Province will be able to capitalize on her institutional knowledge of the Province. The Leadership Team and I are excited she accepted the position,” said COO, Toni Ponder.
New to the Society, Mary has over 25 years’ of accounting experience, earning her C.P.A. and working in public accounting beginning in 1991.
Most recently, Mary worked as an Assistant Division Controller for Republic Services in Bridgeton, Missouri. She has the depth of experience and knowledge the Province desires to strengthen finance processes and procedures. In her free time, Mary enjoys riding on her motorcycle.
