Dear Members of the Sacred Heart Community,
Last Tuesday we were heart-broken to learn of the deadly shootings in Georgia. Eight people were killed, and six of them were Asian women. We mourn the loss of each person, and we condemn all violence committed against Asians, especially Asian women. There is a long history of anti-Asian violence in the United States, and over the past year we have witnessed a dramatic increase.
The Society of the Sacred Heart affirms the dignity of each person, and also our commitment to work tirelessly against racism and all forms of racial injustice. We stand in solidarity with the Asian members of our community and partners in mission, and we pledge to work together to replace hatred with love.
