The winter issue of Heart magazine highlights the legacy of Janet Erskine Stuart. Mother Stuart (1857-1914) was the sixth superior general of the Society of the Sacred Heart, serving in that position from 1911 to 1914. She was a prolific writer, known in particular for her book The Education of Catholic Girls. The Society of the Sacred Heart and schools of the Sacred Heart around the world are observing the centennary of her death from October 2013 to October 2014.
